LitCapital has signed an agreement to invest into a semiconductor technologies company Brolis Semiconductors UAB

Venture capital fund LitCapital further expands its investments’ portfolio. The newest investment agreement was recently signed with a semiconductor technologies company Brolis Semiconductors UAB that specializes in the design and development of long-wavelength mid-infrared laser diodes. The company also plans to use financing from the EU Structural Funds for the development of lasers’ production technology in order to apply it to the commercial market.

The second investment – LitCapital signed an agreement to invest LTL 5 million into UAB Putokšnis

Venture capital fund LitCapital is investing into UAB Putokšnis, a company that manufactures PET packaging in Lithuania and Ukraine. This investment will allow the company to fully utilize its current production capacity as well as to increase production capabilities. There will also be investments made into a cogeneration power plant intended to provide electricity for UAB Putokšnis technological needs.

LitCapital has signed an agreement to invest LTL 3 mil. into a Cleantech (bioenergy generation) company UAB Lignoterma

LitCapital venture capital fund invests into UAB Lignoterma - a newly established bioenergy company in Lithuania. Lignoterma plans to start its first investment project in 2011 - a 26 MW thermo powerplant construction for an industrial client in Panevėžys. Lignoterma will supply heat to one of the largest industrial companies in Panevėžys - AB Amilina. Total estimated investment EUR 6 mil. AB Amilina is also a co-investor in UAB Lignoterma.

A conference “Venture capital: unexploited potential for business” was held on 23th November; it was organised by Raidla Lejins & Norcous” law firm and journal “IQ Economist”. Key topic of the conference was the financing venture capital provides and lack of knowledge Lithuanian companies have about it. Participants were optimistic that this conference would be the first step in establishing a space for venture capital funds and companies to interact.
