Horizontal Media, the operator of Lithuania’s largest used-book marketplace Sena.lt, has completed the acquisition of iBook.lv, one of Latvia’s largest and oldest book-listing platforms. This transaction marks Sena.lt’s official expansion into Latvia and opens a new chapter aimed at connecting readers across both countries. Following the acquisition, Sena.lt becomes the largest used-book platform in the Baltic region.

Until now, iBook.lv was operated by the Latvia-registered iBook.lv Book Friends Association, represented by Rita Riškova-Šure and Jakovs Šurs. Beginning January 7, 2026, Lithuanian company Horizontal Media will assume ownership of the platform. The acquisition includes the full transfer of the platform’s database and domain, with plans to update and further develop its operations.

In the near term, investments will be directed toward technological modernization and new functionality. The platform’s design, user experience, selling options, and buyer protection features will be upgraded, following the successful model of Sena.lt, which has connected hundreds of thousands of readers, sellers, and collectors in Lithuania for over 15 years.

Longer-term plans include integrating the Lithuanian and Latvian markets, allowing readers in both countries to exchange books more easily, discover a broader selection of literature, and form a shared community. This step strengthens Sena.lt’s mission to promote sustainable book circulation and give books a second life across the Baltics.

Horizontal Media is part of the LitCapital private equity portfolio. The group also operates well-known platforms such as autogidas.lt, domo.lt, and sena.lt.
